Security forces have arrested two Kurdish citizens, Shahin Mostafazadeh and 18-year-old Pezhman Amani, in Mahabad and Saqqez in recent days, taking them to undisclosed locations.
The Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned that Mostafazadeh was arrested on a street in his home city of Mahabad, West Azerbaijan Province, on 23 September. Security forces then raided and searched his family home.
Amani was arrested on the same day at his family home in Saqqez, Kurdistan Province, where agents confiscated personal belongings, including mobile phones belonging to family members.
Both arrests were carried out without warrants, and neither detainee has since been allowed access to a lawyer or visits from family members.
Any charges against them and their whereabouts remain unknown.
