In an interview with the Kurdistan Human Rights Network, Mustafa Ahmadian, a lawyer in Kermanshah, announced that his clients called Anisa Jafari-Mehr and Dariush Moradi had been released on bail.
According to Ahmadian, ‘Anisa Jafari-Mehr’ and ‘Dariush Moradi’ were released from the Ministry of Intelligence detention centre in Kermanshah on the December 09 and December 07 respectively on bail of 350 million.
Mustafa Ahmadian added that “the charges brought by the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Islamic Revolution in West Abad against my clients are” propaganda against the regime “and” membership in groups opposed to the regime”.”Anissa Jafari Mehr, a graduate of Linguistics and member of the Writers’ Council of the literary magazine “J” was detained on Nov 23, 2020, in Islamabad e Qarb at her family home. At the same time, Dariush Moradi, a member of the editorial board of the cultural-literary site Hesareh, was also arrested at his family home in Islamabad e Qarb.
It was initially reported that these two cultural activists were detained at the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Intelligence unit, but their lawyer stated that they were detained at the detention centre of the Kermanshah Intelligence Office.
Dariush Moradi and Anisa Jafari-Mehr were arrested in December of last year during the mass detention of at least seven cultural activists in Islamabad e Qarb and Kermanshah. Ms Jafari-Mehr was released on bail after several hours of interrogation but Dariush Moradi and other detained activists were held for a week at the detention centre of Kermanshah affiliated with IRCG.
