Security forces have arrested three civilians in Mahabad and six in Oshnavieh and villages in the past two days. They have taken the civilians to an undisclosed location.
Iran has launched a new wave of arrests of Kurdish civilians and activists. Since 24 July, forces have arrested at least 24 in northwestern Bukan, Mahabad, and Oshnavieh.
In the past two days, Soran Dorbash, Ako Dorbash, and Dara Soleymanpour were detained in Mahabad. Separately, Rebwar Charkdari, Hassan Shadikhah, Obeyd Anvari, Farhad Maroufi, Rahman Asadi, and Jalal Ghaderzadeh were taken into custody in Oshnavieh.
Hassan Shadikhah was released a few hours later, but the other eight are still kept in custody.
Last week, the KHRN reported the arrests of Azimeh Nasseri, Anvar Maleki, Kamal Abbasivand, Shamzin Mohammadi, Chia Aghabeigpour, Kaveh Soleymanpour, Hemin Gharehdakhi, Ahad Soneh, Rizgar Eynalou in Bukan and Mahabad.
Reportedly, most of these arrests are carried out by the Intelligence Organisation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The detainees are transferred to the detention facility of this security-military institution in its Al-Mahdi base in Orumiyeh.
