Iranian security forces have detained two more Kurdish civilians in the scope of the recent wave of arrests of Kurdish civilians and activists in northwestern Kurdistan province.
On 11 November, the Ministry of Intelligence launched a fresh wave of arrests of Kurdish civilians and activists in Kurdistan province. So far, it has detained at least 40 people in Baneh, Saqez, Marivan, and Sanandaj.
In the most recent case of detentions on 8 December, security forces arrested civilians Farough Nikpey and Mohammad Nikpey in Sanandaj.
Reportedly, the civilians who come from the Ney village of Marivan were detained without a court order.
So far, no information has been obtained on the charges against them or their whereabouts.
During the past month, security forces arrested eight Kurdish civilians from the village of Ney. These include Abdolrahman Afshar and Abdolrahman Ashtak, who have recently been transferred from the detention centre of the Ministry of Intelligence in Marivan to the city prison on temporary arrest warrants.
