Iranian security forces arrested Kurdish civil rights activists Kazhal Nasri and Farhang Eyvazi in Sanandaj on 12 December.

The detentions are part of the recent wave of arrests of Kurdish civilians and activists in northwestern Kurdistan province.

Reportedly, forces of the Ministry of Intelligence in Sanandaj searched the houses of the activists and confiscated their personal belongings during their arrests.

They were then taken to the detention centre of the intelligence ministry in Sanandaj.

On 11 November, the Ministry of Intelligence launched a fresh wave of arrests of Kurdish civilians and activists in Kurdistan province. So far, it has detained at least 42 people in Baneh, Saqez, Marivan, and Sanandaj.

The ministry has temporarily released only three civilians named Zagros Rashidi, Abdolrahman Afshar, and Abdolrahman Ashtak on bails of 200 and 500 million Iranian Tomans – nearly 8,000 and 20,000 USD, respectively.
