Two Kurdish civilians named Salah Bahramian and Morad Moradi have been arrested in Naqadeh and Oshnavieh, in the northwestern province of West Azerbaijan, to serve their sentences.
Bahramian was arrested after being summoned to the Enforcement of Judgments Office at Oshnavieh courthouse on 2 February.
He was taken to the prison of Oshnavieh to serve a two-year sentence.
Bahramian, who comes from the Gond-e Vila village of Oshnavieh, was arrested by the Intelligence Organisation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on 11 April 2021. He was released on bail a month later.
In August 2021, the Islamic Revolutionary Court of Oshnavieh sentenced Bahramian to two years in prison. It charged him with “acting against national security” through “membership in the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan (KDPI)”.
Separately, Moradi was arrested on 30 January to serve a sentence of 26 months and 15 days in prison and was taken to prison.
He was arrested by security forces on 15 July 2020 in the Jeldian intersection in Piranshahr and was released on bail after 20 days.
In the past fall, the Islamic Revolutionary Court of Piranshahr sentenced Moradi to three years, six months, and one day in prison.
It charged him with “acting against national security” through “membership in the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan (KDPI)”.
His sentence was later reduced to 26 months and 15 days in prison.
