The Intelligence Organisation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) arrested Kurdish athlete Pouya Rostamipour on the street in Sanandaj, Kurdistan province, on 1 February.
It took the civilian to the military security agency’s detention facility in the city.
After arresting the civilian, security agents raided his home and confiscated his family members’ personal belongings, including cell phones and computers.
Rostamipour is being held at the Shahramfar Detention Centre of the IRGC’s Intelligence Organization in Sanandaj and has so far been denied the right to legal counsel and family visits, Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned.
Rostamipour, 32, comes from Sanandaj and is a sports trainer and graduate of biochemistry.
