Fathollah Rostami, the imam of the Marghan village mosque in Sardasht, was arrested today by Iranian security forces at the entrance to Orumiyeh while accompanying a convoy carrying aid to the earthquake-stricken people of Khoy, in northwestern Iran.

Security forces arrested the Kurdish Sunni cleric without presenting a judicial order and took him to an undisclosed location, Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned.

In the past month, at least ten Kurdish Sunni clerics were arrested by security forces in the cities of Orumiyeh, Piranshahr, Sardasht, Javanrud and Sanandaj.
