Iranian security forces arrested Kurdish civilian Mehdi Jamshidi in Kermanshah on 4 March after he participated in a protest rally held against the schoolgirl poisonings across the country.

The protest rally was held in front of the office of the Ministry of Education at the same time as demonstrations in other Iranian cities against the organised chemical gas attacks on schools and the poisoning of schoolgirls.

On 6 March, security forces searched the civilian’s family home and confiscated some of his personal belongings, Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned.

Security and police forces reportedly arrested some other protesters as well during and after the protest rally.
