The fate of two detained civilians, Ahmad Gholami and Rasoul Obeydi who were arrested by Iranian security forces on 1 May in the village of Sivech in Baneh, Kurdistan province, remains unknown.
A day later, five other civilians from the village, Osman Mahmoudi, Farhad Rahmanpour, Salam Abdollahi, Zaher Ismaili and Jafar Abdollah-Panah, were summoned to the Ministry of Intelligence in Baneh and interrogated for several hours, the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned.
On 1 May, security forces arrested Gholami, who is a Kurdish language teacher in the village of Sivech, after surrounding his farm.
During Gholami’s arrest, security forces searched his family home and took away his car, motorbike and books.
At the same time, security forces raided civilian Obeydi’s house in the village. They arrested him and confiscated some of his belongings.
Obeydi previously lost a leg in a landmine explosion, the KHRN has learned.
Despite follow-ups by the families of the two civilians with the security services and the Baneh court, there has been no information about their fate or the charges against them.
