The fate of Heidar Ghobadi, a eulogist arrested on 26 July for singing anti-government religious verses in the Kianshahr neighbourhood of Kermanshah province, remains unknown.
Ghobadi was arrested by Ministry of Intelligence for singing religious verses critical of government during Muharram mourning ceremonies and transferred to an undisclosed location, the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned.
Although some reports circulated on social media that Ghobadi had been released after one day in custody by signing a written undertaking, sources close to him said that his detention had continued and that his fate remained unknown.
