Iran has carried out the death penalty of three prisoners today in Orumiyeh Central Prison, sources told the KHRN.

An Iranian court had sentenced to death prisoners Sepehr Abbasnezhad, Eskandar Zaare, and Hamzeh Rezaei on drug-related charges.

On 1 August, prison officers transferred the prisoners from ward 4 of the prison to solitary confinement for the execution of their sentences.

The data compiled by the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KRHN) show that, in July, Iran carried out the death penalties of eight prisoners on charges of “drugs” and “premeditated murder”. While seven prisoners were executed in Orumiyeh Central Prison, a prisoner from Kermanshah was executed in Esfahan Central Prison.
