Prisoner Mohammad Saber Payamian, sentenced to death for “premeditated murder”, was executed in Kermanshah Central Prison (also known as Dizel Abad Prison), in western Iran, on 10 May.
Payamian, 34, from Eslamabad-e Gharb in Kermanshah province, was arrested last year.
He was sentenced to death for “premeditated murder” under the Islamic law of qisas, or retribution-in-kind, which grants the victim’s family the right to retaliate.
On 5 May, four more prisoners, Mehdi Teymouri, Davoud Mahmoudyar, Behzad Hanifi, and Faramarz Shakhsi, were executed in Orumiyeh Central Prison on drug-related charges.
