Iran executed prisoners Ezzat-Ali Sabzi and Mohammad Kazemi for drug-related offences at Karaj Central Penitentiary on 30 May.
Sabzi, 44, was a father of one from Harsin, Kermanshah Province. He was arrested about three years ago on drug-related charges and sentenced to death.
The authorities at Karaj Central Penitentiary presented Sabzi as one of the leaders of the recent anti-government protests and urged his execution.
In 2012, his brother Fardin Sabzi was also executed on the same charges.
Kazemi, who comes from Karaj, was also arrested several years ago and sentenced to death on drug-related charges.
