Hedayat Salamat, a Kurdish civilian from Islam Abad of Orumiyeh who was sentenced to six months of imprisonment by Branch 102 of the Public Court on charges of disrupting public order in August this year, was transferred to the Orumiyeh Central Prison to endure his sentence.

Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has been informed that Hedayat Salamat was summoned by Enforcement Office of Orumiyeh Public Court on December 23, 2018 following the above-mentioned decree and subsequently transferred to the Orumiyeh Central Prison to endure his sentence.

This Kurdish civilian was arrested by Iranian Special Guards on October 27, 2014, on charges of participating in a demonstration in support of the resistance of Kobani city but he was released temporarily after a month on a bail of 100 million Tomans.

In August this year, his hearing was held at Branch 102 of the Public Court of Orumiyeh which sentenced him to 6 months in prison on charges of disrupting the public order.

Upon being transferred to the prison, he was taken to youth ward of prison by the orders of the prison authorities who disregarded the principle of Segregation of the Crimes.

It should be noted that, following the ISIL invasion of Kobani, various Kurdish cities in Iran witnessed protests in support of the resistance of Kobani city in October of 2014. During the 25 and 27 October 2014, the gathering of Kurdish civilians in support of Orumiyeh was confronted with the onslaught of Special Forces who arrested at least 16 people but released them after a few weeks on bail.
