According to statistics compiled by the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN), at least 41 Kurdish Civilians and activists have been detained by security forces in the last 30 days in the cities of Marivan, Kamyaran, Divandere, Sanandaj, Sarvabad, Sanghar, Paveh, Oshnoyeh, Piranshahr, Takab in the provinces of Kurdistan, Kermanshah and West Azerbaijan.
Nine of these detainees have been sent to prison to serve their imprisonment sentence while the remaining 33 detainees, detained by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and Ministry of Intelligence agents, have been transferred to secret detention centres of these two security agencies.
Five detainees have been released on bail this month, while others remain in detention and many of them have not been allowed to contact their families yet.Moreover, Ainaz Zare, a Kurdish political prisoner who has been in detention with her mother, Shahnaz Sadeghifar, since October last year, was sentenced to five years in prison on November 17 for “acting against national security” through membership in the Kurdistan Freedom Party (Pak).
