Following an intense clash between forces of a Kurdish party and Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps for several hours in one of the villages of the Kamyaran on Monday morning, a heavy security atmosphere was established in the villages around Shahu mountains.

According to the Kurdistan Human Rights Network, at 2:00 AM on Monday, August 14, Revolutionary Guards Corps ambushed around the village of Tefin of Kamyaran and they clashed with the forces of a Kurdish party.

“The conflict continued for 3 hours with light and heavy weapons while the Revolutionary Guard Corps lingered in the village surrounding Shahu mountains until morning and established a heavy security atmosphere. There has been no information about the outcome of this conflict so far,” According to a local witness.

On Monday, Aug 7, 2017, a large number of IRGC forces manoeuvred in the area of Shahu mountain near Tangivar and Palangan on the pretext of confronting the Kurdish parties. During this manoeuvre, the IRGC forces bombarded Hawari Shaykh Aziz and Pacharash. It took environmental activists and local people several days to put off the fire caused by bombardment as their efforts were blocked by the massive number of IRGCs present in the area.
