Three students of Kurdistan University, who were detained by security forces following a rally in protest to the crash of a Ukrainian Plane by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), were released on bail.
Moslem Suleimani and Arshad Atabak were released on bail yesterday while Zaniar Ahmadpour was released today as his family did not manage to secure the bail yesterday.
Arshad Atabak(secretary to “Ahwara”), Muslim Suleimani(secretary to the Islamic Association of the university) and Zaniar Ahmadpour were arrested separately on the routebetween the dormitory and university on January, 15, following a rally organised by students.
There were serious concerns about the fate of these students who had been beaten by security forces and had no contact with their families while being detained.
Students of Kurdistan University had organised a protest rally on January, 12 and 13, in protest to the crash of the Ukrainian aircraft by IRGC.
The Boeing 737-800 passenger plane flying to Kyiv crashed minutes after take-off from the Imam Khomeini International Airport in Tehran on January 8. All the 176 people on this plane including 169 passengers and 9 crew members were killed in this incident.
