Arrest
Aboubakr Khatami, a Kurdish civilian from Oshnavieh, West Azerbaijan Province, was arrested by security forces at his home in the city on 16 March 2025 and taken to a security detention centre in Orumiyeh.
Defendant’s Rights
He was arrested without a warrant and was denied family visits and access to legal representation during his detention.
Current Status
After initial interrogation, Khatami was transferred to Oshnavieh Prison and released on bail of seven billion rials (nearly 7,000 USD) on 10 April 2025.
