Arrest
Ali Maroufi, a Kurdish civilian from Mahabad, West Azerbaijan Province, was arrested by security forces in the city on 28 October 2024.
Defendant’s Rights
He was arrested without a warrant and was denied family visits and access to legal representation during his detention.
Current Status
After several months in detention, Maroufi was transferred from the Ministry of Intelligence detention centre in Orumiyeh, West Azerbaijan Province, to Mahabad Prison.
