Amir Mohammad-Khani, a civil rights activist and former political prisoner from Divandarreh, Kurdistan Province, has previously been summoned and detained by the Ministry of Intelligence and the Intelligence Organisation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in 2018 and 2019.
Arrest
Mohammad-Khani was arrested by the Ministry of Intelligence at his workplace in Divandarreh on 27 November 2024.
Defendant’s Rights
He was arrested without a warrant and has since been denied family visits and access to legal representation.
Despite his family’s repeated attempts to obtain information about his fate, security and judicial authorities have refused to provide any clarification regarding his situation.
Current Status
Mohammad-Khani is being held in the Ministry of Intelligence detention centre in Sanandaj, Kurdistan Province.
