Fardin Sheikhol-Eslami (Ako Sheikhol-Eslami) is a Kurdish civil rights activist from Sanandaj, Kurdistan Province who was previously arrested by the Ministry of Intelligence in 2018 for his environmental activism.

Arrest

Sheikhol-Eslami was arrested by the Ministry of Intelligence on 2 October 2024 in Sanandaj, along with his wife.

Defendant’s Rights

He was arrested without a warrant and has since been denied family visits and access to legal representation.

Despite his family’s repeated attempts to obtain information about his fate, security and judicial authorities have refused to provide any clarification regarding his situation.

Current Status

Sheikhol-Eslami is currently being held in the Ministry of Intelligence Detention Centre in Sanandaj.
