Farid Enayati, an activist from Paveh living in Kermanshah, was previously arrested by the Intelligence Organisation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on 22 September 2022, during the anti-government Women, Life, Freedom uprising in one of Kermanshah’s streets.
He was detained for three months in the IRGC Intelligence detention centre in Nabi Akram military base, where he was subjected to interrogation and pressure to make forced confessions.
He went on hunger strike for 41 days in protest at his continued detention. After spending a total of 105 days in detention, he was provisionally released on bail from Dizel Abad Prison in Kermanshah.
Arrest
On 14 November 2024, he was arrested in Kermanshah, along with his brother Hamid Enayati, the head of Paveh’s Mountaineering Association, by agents of the Ministry of Intelligence.
Defendant’s Rights
He was arrested without a warrant and has since been denied family visits and access to legal representation.
Despite his family’s repeated attempts to obtain information about his fate, security and judicial authorities have refused to provide any clarification regarding his situation.
Current Status
Enayati is being held in the Ministry of Intelligence detention centre in Kermanshah.
Since his arrest, he has been on a hunger strike in protest against his detention and has refused to speak with his interrogators.
