Arrest

Farshad Shokrollah, a Kurdish civilian from Saqqez, Kurdistan Province, was arrested by the Ministry of Intelligence at his family home in the city on 28 September 2024 and was taken to the Ministry’s detention centre in Sanandaj, Kurdistan Province.

Defendant’s Rights

He was arrested without a warrant and was denied family visits and access to legal representation during his detention.

Current Status

Approximately two months later, Shokrollah was transferred from the Ministry of Intelligence detention centre to the city prison, and was released on bail on 27 November 2024.
