Arrest

Foad Shadi, a Kurdish citizen from the village of Shahini in Kamyaran, Kurdistan Province, and a founding member of the Shahini charity, was arrested by Ministry of Intelligence forces at his family home in the village on 25 July 2026.

Shadi was arrested without a warrant and has since been denied access to legal representation and family visits.

Despite his family’s repeated enquiries about his situation, the security and judicial authorities have refused to provide any information about his status.

Current Status

Shadi is being held at the Ministry of Intelligence detention facility in Kamyaran.
