Jalal Alavi, a Kurdish citizen from the village of Kuseh Kahriz in Mahabad, West Azerbaijan Province, was previously detained by security forces for a period in January 2023.

Arrest

Alavi was arrested by security forces after they raided his family home on 20 March 2026 and was transferred to the Ministry of Intelligence detention facility in Orumiyeh, West Azerbaijan Province.

Defendant’s Rights

He was arrested without a warrant and was denied access to legal representation and family visits during his detention.

Current Status

Alavi was temporarily released on 27 June 2026 on bail of 105 billion rials
