Arrest

Jamal Rostami, a Kurdish citizen from the village of Shahini in Kamyaran, Kurdistan Province, and a founding member of the Shahini charity, was arrested by Ministry of Intelligence forces at his garden property in the village on 4 August 2026.

Several hours later, the forces raided the property again, intimidating his family and searching the premises.

Rostami was arrested without a warrant and has since been denied access to legal representation and family visits.

Despite his family’s repeated enquiries about his situation, the security and judicial authorities have refused to provide any information about his status.

Current Status

Rostami is being held at the Ministry of Intelligence detention facility in Kamyaran.
