Kamran Sakhtemangar, a labour activist and former political prisoner from Sanandaj, Kurdistan Province, has been summoned, arrested, and imprisoned by security agencies many times in recent years due to his activities.
Arrest
Sakhtemangar was arrested on 5 February 2025 by agents of the Ministry of Intelligence on Jami Street in Sanandaj.
Defendant’s Rights
He was arrested without a warrant and has since been denied family visits and access to legal representation.
Despite his family’s repeated attempts to obtain information about his fate, security and judicial authorities have refused to provide any clarification regarding his situation.
Current Status
Sakhtemangar is being held in the Ministry of Intelligence detention centre in Sanandaj.
