Keyvan Mohammadi is the brother of the executed Kurdish political prisoner Kioumars Mohammadi.
Kioumars Mohammadi and his cousin Nader Mohammadi were executed in Sanandaj Central Prison on 10 October 2007 on charges of “enmity against God” (moharebeh) through membership of the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan (PDKI).
Arrest
Keyvan Mohammadi was arrested by the Ministry of Intelligence at the entrance of Sanandaj, Kurdistan Province, on 1 October 2024 and taken to the Ministry’s detention facility in the city.
Defendant’s Rights
He was arrested without a warrant and has since been denied family visits and access to legal representation.
Despite his family’s repeated attempts to obtain information about his fate, security and judicial authorities have refused to provide any clarification regarding his situation.
Current Status
Mohammadi is being held in the Ministry of Intelligence detention centre in Sanandaj.
