Arrest

Masoud Khezri, a Kurdish civilian from the village of Shahvaneh in Oshnavieh, West Azerbaijan Province, was arrested by security forces at a checkpoint in the village of Nalivan, Oshnavieh, on 15 March 2025, and taken to a security detention centre in Orumiyeh, West Azerbaijan Province.

Defendant’s Rights

He was arrested without a warrant and was denied family visits and access to legal representation during his detention.

Current Status

After initial interrogation, Khezri was transferred to Oshnavieh Prison and released on bail of seven billion rials (nearly 7,000 USD) on 10 April 2025.
