Arrest

Morad Ostovar, a Kurdish civilian from the village of Pasveh in Piranshahr, West Azerbaijan Province, was arrested by Ministry of Intelligence forces in the village on 20 January 2025, and was taken to the Ministry’s detention facility in Orumiyeh, West Azerbaijan Province.

Defendant’s Rights

He was arrested without a warrant and was denied family visits and access to legal representation during his detention.

Current Status

After initial interrogation, Ostovar was transferred to Naqadeh Prison and released on bail of four billion rials (nearly 4,000 USD) on 8 April 2025.
