Arrest
Omid Faraji was arrested by the Ministry of Intelligence in Marivan, Kurdistan Province, on 18 August 2024.
He was subsequently transferred to the Ministry’s detention facility in Sanandaj, Kurdistan Province.
Defendant’s Rights
He was arrested without a warrant and was denied family visits and access to legal representation during his detention.
Current Status
Faraji was moved to Marivan Prison in late September and was released on bail of 10 billion rials (nearly 20,000 USD) on 29 September.
