Seyyed Ali Ghoreishi is a well-known Kurdish artist in Kurdish folk and traditional music from Bukan, West Azerbaijan Province.

Arrest

Ghoreishi was arrested on the evening of 11 May 2026 during a raid on his family home in Bukan by security forces.

Defendant’s Rights

He was arrested without a warrant and has since been denied family visits and access to legal representation.

Despite his family’s repeated attempts to obtain information about his fate, security and judicial authorities have refused to provide any clarification regarding his situation.

Current Status

Ghoreishi is being held in the Ministry of Intelligence detention centre in Orumiyeh.
