Arrest

Sirwan Amini is a Kurdish citizen from Sanandaj, Kurdistan Province, who was arrested on 7 March 2026 along with his wife, Zeynab Azizi, after security forces raided their family home in Sanandaj.

After some time in a security detention facility, he was transferred to Hamadan Prison.

Defendant’s Rights

He was arrested without a warrant and has since been denied access to legal representation and family visits.

The charge against him has been reported as “using Starlink”.

Current Status

Amini is being held in Hamadan Central Prison.
