Arrest
Srwa Shiri, a Kurdish civilian from the village of Taraqeh in Bukan West Azerbaijan Province, was arrested by the Ministry of Intelligence together with her brother Peyman Shiri and her cousin Fardin Shiri in the village on 25 September 2024, and was taken to the Ministry’s detention facility in Orumiyeh, West Azerbaijan Province.
Defendant’s Rights
She was arrested without a warrant and was denied family visits and access to legal representation during her detention.
Current Status
Shiri was released on bail after several weeks in detention.
