Tahsin Dadras, a former political prisoner from Marivan, Kurdistan Province, was previously arrested in December 2017 on charges of “acting against national security” through membership of the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan (PDKI), and was later released on bail.
In 2018, the Islamic Revolutionary Court of Marivan sentenced him to 12 years in prison on the same charge, a sentence that was reduced to six years by the Kurdistan Province Court of Appeal.
He was sent to Marivan Prison in 2018 to serve his sentence and was released in June 2021 following a judicial amnesty.
Arrest
Dadras was arrested by security forces at his workplace in Marivan on 21 March 2025.
Defendant’s Rights
He was arrested without a warrant and was denied family visits and access to legal representation during his detention.
Current Status
After initial interrogation, Dadras was transferred to Marivan Prison and released on bail on 29 March 2025.
