Arrest
Yousef Ghal, a Kurdish civilian from the village of Beyram in Mahabad, West Azerbaijan Province, was arrested by Ministry of Intelligence agents in the village on 15 December 2024 and was taken to the Ministry’s detention facility in Orumiyeh, West Azerbaijan Province.
Defendant’s Rights
He was arrested without a warrant and was denied family visits and access to legal representation during his detention.
Current Status
After initial interrogation, Ghal was transferred to Mahabad Prison and released on bail on 10 April 2025.
