Arrest

Yousef Karimi, a Kurdish citizen from Bukan, West Azerbaijan Province, was arrested on 3 April 2026 after security forces raided his family home in Bukan.

Following his arrest, he was transferred to the detention facility of the Ministry of Intelligence in Orumiyeh, West Azerbaijan Province.

Defendant’s Rights

He was arrested without a warrant and was denied access to legal representation and family visits during his detention.

Current Status

Karimi was temporarily released on bail after several weeks in detention.
