Arrest

Zahra Mohammad-Vali, a Kurdish citizen from Abdanan, Ilam Province, who lives in Dehloran, was arrested by Ministry of Intelligence forces on 23 May 2026.

Defendant’s Rights

She was arrested without a warrant and with violence and has since been denied access to legal representation and family visits.

Despite repeated enquiries by her family to obtain information about her fate, security and judicial authorities have refused to provide any explanation regarding her situation.

Current Status

Mohammad-Vali is being held in the women’s ward of Ilam Central Prison.

She has been on hunger strike since late June 2026 in protest at her continued detention.
