Arrest
Zanyar Afsari, a Kurdish civilian from Marivan, Kurdistan Province, was arrested on 11 September 2024 after being summoned to the office of the Ministry of Intelligence in the city.
Defendant’s Rights
He was summoned via telephone and was denied family visits and access to a lawyer during his arrest.
Current Status
In October 2024, Afsari was transferred from the Ministry of Intelligence’s detention facility in Marivan to the city’s prison and later released on bail of eight billion rials (nealy 10,000 USD).
