Iran executes prisoner convicted of rape in Orumiyeh

Iranian authorities have executed Omid Sheikh-Kanlou Milan, a prisoner from Salmas in West Azerbaijan Province, who had been convicted of rape, the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned. Sheikh-Kanlou Milan, who was arrested about three years ago, was transferred to solitary confinement in Orumiyeh Central Prison on 12 November in preparation for his execution, which took place in the early hours of 14 November.
