Kurdish painter and sculptor Loghman Pir-Khezranian was taken to Evin Prison in Tehran on 19 September to serve a nine-month sentence.

On 6 October 2020, security forces arrested Pir-Khezranian for protesting against his daughter Neda Pir-Khezranian’s detention.

After his arrest, the artist was taken to a detention facility in Evin prison called 209 Detention Centre.

On 9 November 2020, he was released on bail after the ending of his interrogation.

Recently, the Islamic Revolutionary Court of Tehran sentenced Pir-Khezranian to two years in prison, of which 15 months have been suspended for five years.

The court sentenced the artist on charges of “disturbing the public opinion”.

Loghman Pir-Khezranian is from Marivan, Kurdistan province, and resides in Tehran.
