A court official in Orumiyeh, West Azerbaijan province, confirmed the detention of Edris Feqhi, a member of the Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK) after the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) reported that he was alive and held by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

On 28 September, the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) published a report saying it had obtained information that Edris Feqhi, previously reported to have lost his life in a clash, was detained wounded.

Previous reports had stated that the PJAK member was killed during a clash between the PJAK and IRGC forces in Bukan, West Azerbaijan province, on 24 July.

Following the news, Feqhi’s family headed to the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office in Orumiyeh.

An official told the family that the PJAK member was held in detention, adding that his interrogation process continued.

Security interrogators told them that it was not possible to meet with Feqhi until the end of the interrogation process. They described his health condition as “good enough”.

Meanwhile, according to the information gathered by the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN), Feqhi’s physical condition is poor and he is under torture.
