Kurdish envorinmental activist Roya Jalali has been released on bail from the Juvenile Detention Centre of Sanandaj, sources told the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN).


Jalali, who is a member of the Green Society of Kurdistan, was released on a bail of 100 million Iranian Tomans – nearly 4,000 USD.


The activist had been arrested on 2 February by Iranian security forces at her house in Sanandaj. Reportedly, security forces had resorted to violence during her arrest and insulted her and her family members.
During the time of her detention, she was held in solitary confinement in the Juvenile Detention Centre of Sanandaj and was taken to the city’s intelligence office for interrogation on a daily basis.


Her sister Robabeh Jalali and her husband Khabat Mafakheri were also detained by security forces over the past few months and later released on bail.
