Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence in the northwestern Sanandaj, Kurdistan province, temporarily released the civil rights activist Kazhal Nasri on 10 January.

The activist was released on an electronic tag and was indefinitely barred from travelling to her village.

She was released on a bail of 100 million Iranian Tomans – nearly 4,000 USD.

Reportedly, security interrogators agreed to her temporary release two days after her mother went on a hunger strike in front of the office of the intelligence ministry in Sanandaj.

The intelligence ministry detained Nasri on 12 December at the village of Tangi Sar in Sanandaj and took her to the ministry’s detention facility.

During this period, she was deprived of the right to receive family visits and contact her family.

So far, no information has been obtained on the charges against the activist.
