The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) forces shot and killed a 21-year-old man named Rebaz Salehivand with shotgun pellets in Mahabad, West Azerbaijan province, on 22 November.

“Yesterday morning, near the village of Haji Mamian in Mahabad, Rebaz Salehivand and one of his friends, whose identity is unknown, were shot by IRGC forces from a distance of a few meters while driving a motorcycle, and were severely injured”, said a relative of the young man in an interview with the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN).

The source added: “Rebaz, who was severely wounded by more than a hundred shotgun pellets, passed away after a few hours. IRGC forces blocked the entrance to Mahabad and prevented the burial of his body in the Ferdows Cemetery in the city. His family was forced to bury the body in the cemetery of Yousefkand village, a few kilometres from Mahabad.”
