Detained civilians Sahar Ahmadi, Zilan Molaei and Zeryan Molaei were provisionally released on bail from the Juvenile Detention Centre of Sanandaj, Kurdistan Province, in recent days.

In addition, activist Pouria Ahmadi informed his family by telephone that he had been transferred from the Ministry of Intelligence detention centre in Sanandaj to a facility run by the ministry in Tehran, the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) has learned.

The Molaei sisters Zilan and Zeryan – both students – were arrested without a warrant on 13 August and held for five days before their temporary release on 17 August.

Sahar Ahmadi, who was arrested along with her husband Pouria Ahmadi and their young son on 1 August after their car was shot at near Sanandaj, was also released on bail.

Ahmadi and her husband were severely beaten during their arrest, KHRN has learned.

The following day, security forces returned their child to Pouria Ahmadi’s family.

According to reports, Ahmadi informed his family of his transfer to Tehran in a brief phone call, but there is no information on the charges against him or where he is being held.

The activist has not had access to family visits or legal representation since his arrest.
