Iranian security forces have arrested two civilians Kamal Abbasivand and Saadi Ahmadpour in recent days and have taken them to Bukan Prison in West Azerbaijan province to serve their sentences.

The Intelligence Organisation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) had detained Abbasivand on 25 July 2021 and Ahmadpour on 21 September 2021 in Bukan.

The two civilians were transferred to the detention facility of the Intelligence Organisation of the IRGC after being detained.

They were later released on bail after more than a month of interrogation in this security detention centre.

A month ago, Branch 101 of the Criminal Court of Bukan sentenced Abbasivand to six months in prison on charges of “acting against national security”.

The court also sentenced Ahmadpour to one year in prison on the same charge.

This verdict was confirmed some time ago in the Court of Appeals of West Azerbaijan province.
