Khaled Zamani, from Kamyaran, was sentenced to five years of suspended imprisonment several days ago on charges of “acting against national security through membership in a Kurdish opposition party” by the branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court of Sanandaj, headed by Judge Saeedi, a reliable source told the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN).

The civilian was arrested by security forces at his family home in Kamyaran in early May and transferred to the Ministry of Intelligence detention centre in Sanandaj. He was transferred to Kamyaran Prison on August 10 after the end of the interrogation period and was released on a 500 million Toman bail in September.

His trial was held on July 3 in the Branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court of Sanandaj, and the verdict was served on the lawyer of this civilian in recent days.
