The Criminal Court of Bukan, in northwestern Iran, has sentenced two Kurdish civilians to six months in prison, each.

Branch 101 of the Criminal Court of Bukan, West Azerbaijan province, charged Kamal Abbasivand and Sherko Ahmadpouri with “acting against national security”.

The Intelligence Organisation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) arrested Abbasivand on 25 July and Ahmadpouri on 21 September in Bukan.

After his arrest, Abbasivand was transferred to the detention centre of the Intelligence Organisation of the IRGC. After 35 days, he was temporarily released from Bukan Prison on a 200 million Iranian Tomans – nearly 8,000 USD – bail.

Ahmadpour was also transferred to the same detention facility. He was released on bail after one day of interrogation.
